The Asus G53JW is a high-end 15.6″ gaming laptop released in fall 2010 as an upgrade to the original G53. The G53JW mainly offers enhanced 3D-ready graphics, via one of Nvidia’s new DirectX 11-optimized mobile Fermi cards. Both the G53JW and the 17.3″ G73JW utilize the 1.5GB GDDR5 GeForce GTX 460M.
Asus G53JW is available with one of several processors from Intel’s 2010 lineup, ranging from a 2.13GHz Core i3 to an overclocked 2.66GHz quad-core i7. The G53JW comes with up to 8GB of DDR3 memory and an optional Blu-ray drive to take advantage of an (optionally) 1080p, LED-backlit display. Bluetooth and 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity, in addition to an HDMI output, are standard. The laptop is not very portable, weighing 7.9 lbs with an 8-cell battery.
